Peter Taylor's life as a publisher took an unexpected detour after he browsed through the airline magazine on a flight to Athens ....... arriving at his friends' house in the city, he chopped up the magazine, and with the aid of some flour paste provided by his friend Amalia, he spent the afternoon making a collage. Looking back, he has no doubt that this first attempt at collage came out of his long-standing admiration for the work of Kurt Schwitters, the acknowledged master of the genre. For Peter, a gentle new obsession took hold....

Limiting himself to only the basics of paper, card, fabric and the occasional piece of wood or metal – mostly found materials, but also the sentimental remnants from previous generations of his family, as well as the artefacts from his own life – over the years Peter has continued to make collages, and he has brought them together here in the hope that they might be of interest to others, and especially to fellow collagists as they practise their craft, their art.
